Molten Salt Solutions Raises $7M for Nuclear Lithium
Molten Salt Solutions raised $7M to scale lithium enrichment for advanced nuclear energy supply chains.

Advanced nuclear startups do not only need new reactor designs. They also need specialised industrial supply chains.
What happened
Molten Salt Solutions raised $7M in seed funding to scale lithium enrichment for advanced nuclear energy.
The round follows a $3M pre-seed and more than $5M in grant funding, including support through New Mexico’s Advanced Energy Award. The company is working on lithium isotope enrichment, a specialised materials layer linked to advanced nuclear systems.
Why it matters
This is a small but useful climate-hardtech signal. Nuclear innovation depends on more than reactor physics; it also depends on fuel, materials, permitting, manufacturing and supply-chain resilience.
If advanced nuclear deployment grows, bottlenecks can emerge in niche inputs that most software investors rarely track.
The bigger picture
Climate hardtech is becoming more industrial and supply-chain specific. Startups that solve hidden materials constraints may not look flashy, but they can become critical infrastructure for energy systems that need reliable, firm clean power.
