Paris-based Mio emerged from stealth with a €1.9 million pre-seed round co-led by Fabric.vc and Topology.vc.
The company is developing an AI system that operates directly inside Slack. It is designed to handle recurring tasks, follow up on work and coordinate information without requiring employees to open a separate application.
Mio’s proposition is that workplace AI should behave less like a chatbot and more like a team member embedded in existing communication flows.
Why it matters
Enterprise AI adoption often stalls because employees have to change habits or move between too many tools. Slack already contains conversations, decisions and informal workflows, making it a logical place for an AI system to observe context and assist with execution.
The opportunity is significant, but so are the risks. A proactive agent needs clear permissions, reliable memory and strong controls to avoid acting on incomplete context or exposing sensitive information.
The bigger picture
The workplace-AI market is shifting from assistants that answer questions to agents that participate in ongoing work. Distribution may matter as much as model capability. Products that live inside tools employees already use could gain adoption faster than standalone platforms, provided they can earn enough trust to act on the user’s behalf.
