Mindmax raises £2.5m for an AI tutor built around human learning

What happened
Mindmax raised £2.5m, with Concept Ventures leading the funding. The company is building an AI-powered learning platform for professional exams and skills development, using interactive conversations to support practice.
Its founders previously built Memrise. The investment backs a new learning product; it does not establish that it improves exam results.
Why it matters
Tutoring can offer a concrete use for conversational AI if it responds to what a learner understands and helps them practise weak areas. That is a different product challenge from generating a polished explanation on demand.
The bigger picture
The meaningful evidence will be whether learners retain more, complete their courses and perform better on relevant assessments. A tutor that feels engaging still needs to demonstrate educational value over time.
