Magic Vision Raises €600K for Elderly Monitoring
Italian startup Magic Vision secures €600,000 for Silver Eye, a sensor-based system designed to monitor falls and unusual activity among vulnerable people.

Supporting independent living for older adults creates a difficult balance between safety and privacy. Magic Vision is trying to address that tension with local AI-enabled monitoring.
What happened
The Italian startup raised €600,000 to develop and expand Silver Eye, a monitoring product using computer vision and environmental sensors to recognise incidents such as falls or unusual activity.
Unlike wearable emergency buttons, the system is designed to work without requiring a person to carry or activate a device. The company says data can be processed locally to reduce unnecessary transmission of images to external systems.
Magic Vision reports more than 200 sensors deployed across pilot and commercial environments. That is a company-reported deployment figure, not evidence that the product has been clinically validated in every situation.
Why it matters
Falls and other incidents can be dangerous when people live alone or have limited access to immediate assistance. Effective monitoring may improve response times and reduce the need for constant direct observation.
Reliability is essential. False alarms can overwhelm carers, while missed incidents undermine the product's purpose. Privacy and consent are also important when sensors operate in homes and care settings.
The bigger picture
Healthtech opportunities increasingly extend into the home, combining edge processing, sensing and care workflows. Magic Vision is early, but its approach reflects the demand for systems that support ageing populations without relying only on wearables.
