Loops Raises $3.5M for AI Commerce

Loops has raised $3.5 million to give online retailers a more integrated set of AI tools for helping shoppers discover, compare and select products.

What happened

The San Francisco-based company announced a $3.5 million seed financing with support from investors including a16z speedrun, NTT Docomo, Connecticut Innovations, Alumni Ventures and Monday Capital. Its software combines conversational product discovery, catalogue enrichment and virtual try-on functionality in an offering intended for online stores. The company says its technology is deployed across more than 70 retailers. That customer figure is company-reported and does not establish how much revenue or purchase conversion the product generates.

Why it matters

Traditional shopping interfaces rely heavily on search terms and filters. Conversational interfaces could make discovery more intuitive for customers who know their needs but not exact product names. For retailers, bringing these tools into their own storefronts may offer a way to retain customer relationships as external AI assistants become another channel for product search.
