Lasso Raises $30M for AI Guardrails

AI guardrails are becoming part of enterprise security infrastructure. Lasso’s new round shows how quickly the market is forming around protecting models, agents and AI-powered workflows from misuse and failure.

What happened

Lasso Security raised a $30M Series A and launched a CPU-only AI guardrail product. Entrée Capital increased its position in the company, with other investors including iAngels and Singtel Innov8 participating. Lasso has now raised more than $37M in total.

The company focuses on security controls for AI systems, including guardrails that can be deployed without relying on expensive GPU infrastructure.

Why it matters

Enterprises are adopting copilots, custom models and AI agents faster than their governance processes can mature. That creates new risks around prompt injection, data leakage, unsafe outputs, model misuse and agent behaviour.

A CPU-only guardrail approach is commercially relevant because many organisations want protection that is easier to deploy inside existing environments. If security tools require heavy infrastructure themselves, adoption slows down.

The bigger picture

The first wave of AI spending went into models and applications. The next wave is moving into control layers: monitoring, evaluation, access governance and runtime security. Lasso sits in that emerging security stack, where buyers need confidence before letting AI systems handle more sensitive work.
