Klaviyo Buys Agency for AI Agents
Klaviyo is buying Agency, an AI customer-success startup, to accelerate agentic workflows across marketing and post-sale support.

Klaviyo is using M&A to move faster into AI agents for customer operations.
What happened
Klaviyo agreed to acquire Agency, an AI-powered customer-success startup founded by Elias Torres. The deal terms were not disclosed.
Agency had raised about $32 million from investors including Sequoia, Menlo Ventures and Felicis. Its 25-person team is expected to join Klaviyo, where the focus will be accelerating AI agents across marketing, customer engagement and post-sale support.
The acquisition is especially notable because Torres previously co-founded Drift, a conversational marketing company that eventually became part of the broader marketing-software ecosystem. That gives the deal a “full circle” feel: customer conversation software is now being rebuilt around agents rather than chat widgets.
Why it matters
This is a strong AI M&A signal. SaaS companies are under pressure to turn existing products into more automated workflows, but building credible agent systems takes talent, customer context and product focus.
Buying a specialised AI-agent team lets Klaviyo speed up that transition while keeping agents tied to real customer data and workflows.
The bigger picture
The next phase of enterprise AI may be less about standalone tools and more about AI capabilities being absorbed into existing software platforms.
Marketing, customer success and revenue operations are obvious targets because they involve repetitive but high-value work: campaign follow-up, segmentation, customer support, onboarding, renewal workflows and account expansion.
