Kahua Tops $1B Valuation With Bain Investment
Kahua reaches unicorn valuation after a Bain Capital Tech Opportunities investment in its construction software platform.

Kahua has crossed the billion-dollar valuation mark, adding another construction-software company to the growing group of vertical enterprise platforms attracting large growth investors.
What happened
Kahua received a minority growth investment from Bain Capital Tech Opportunities at a valuation above $1 billion. The amount invested was not disclosed.
The company provides software for owners and delivery teams managing complex construction and capital projects. Its platform acts as a system of record for project data and increasingly incorporates AI into planning, coordination and reporting workflows.
The new investment is intended to support product development, AI capabilities and commercial expansion.
Why it matters
Construction remains highly fragmented, with many large projects still relying on disconnected tools and manual coordination.
Software that becomes the operational system of record can gain an unusually strong position because it sits at the centre of project data, contractors, budgets and workflows. Adding AI on top of that data can make the product harder to replace.
The bigger picture
Vertical enterprise software is entering a new phase where established workflow platforms are using proprietary operational data to build AI features.
The strongest businesses may not need to compete as general AI companies. Instead, they can use deep domain knowledge and embedded customer relationships to turn existing software categories into AI-native operating systems.
