Jio Platforms has filed updated IPO documents seeking to raise up to $3.2 billion in what could become India's largest public offering.
What happened
The company plans to issue 270 million new shares at a proposed price range that could value Jio at approximately $108 billion. Public subscription is scheduled for 21 to 23 October. Jio combines India's largest telecom network with broadband, consumer applications, cloud services and AI infrastructure. Meta and Google are among its existing shareholders after earlier strategic investments. The valuation and proceeds remain targets until the offering is priced and completed.
Why it matters
The listing would provide a major liquidity event for a company that attracted more than $20 billion from global technology and private-market investors in 2020. It will also give public markets a transparent valuation for one of India's most important digital platforms.
The bigger picture
Jio's IPO is a broader test of investor appetite for large emerging-market technology businesses that combine infrastructure and consumer services. The outcome could influence future listings across India's technology sector and provide a benchmark for regional growth companies.
