Hannover-based INLEAP Photonics raised a €20M seed round led by UVC Partners, with participation from HTGF, Balnord, Sentries and Scale Capital.
The company is developing laser-based systems for drone defence and critical-infrastructure protection. The funding is expected to support manufacturing, quality assurance, sales and service as the company scales beyond early development.
The key market signal is not the weapon detail. It is the broader demand for systems that can protect airports, energy assets, logistics hubs and other sensitive infrastructure from low-cost drone threats.
For a seed-stage company, the round size is meaningful and points to stronger investor appetite for European dual-use hardware.

This is a useful defence-tech item because Europe is reassessing its ability to build and scale security infrastructure domestically.
