HyperLight adds VentureTech Alliance to Series C
HyperLight added semiconductor-focused VentureTech Alliance to its Series C syndicate as it pushes thin-film lithium niobate photonics toward scale.

Photonics is becoming increasingly important as AI systems need faster and more energy-efficient ways to move data between chips and data centres.
What happened
HyperLight announced that VentureTech Alliance joined its Series C financing. The new investor adds semiconductor-industry expertise across design, manufacturing, packaging and photonics to an existing syndicate spanning infrastructure and chip ecosystems.
Why it matters
Thin-film lithium niobate photonics could help improve optical communications as data-centre bandwidth requirements rise. Scaling the technology depends not only on device performance but also on integration with semiconductor manufacturing.
The bigger picture
AI infrastructure investment is increasingly flowing into enabling technologies around compute, including optical interconnects and photonics that reduce the cost of moving enormous volumes of data.
