Homa has raised $5 million to expand an AI-supported homebuying brokerage that combines software automation with human agents.
What happened
The seed round was led by Quiet Capital with participation from Restive Ventures and Cambrian Ventures. Homa is a licensed brokerage that helps buyers through property search, tours, offers, negotiation and closing. The company uses AI to automate parts of the process while retaining human support for higher-stakes decisions. Homa charges buyers roughly 1% of the purchase price and returns part of the traditional buyer-agent commission to customers. The funding will support expansion in California, mortgage lending and development of a mobile app.
Why it matters
Real estate brokerage remains a high-commission service business even though much of the workflow is information-heavy and repetitive. AI can reduce the cost of research, communication and transaction coordination, potentially allowing new brokerages to compete on lower fees.
The bigger picture
Homa represents another AI-native services model in which software is used to rebuild the economics of an existing professional service rather than simply sell tools to incumbents. The test is whether automation can lower costs without weakening negotiation quality or consumer trust.
