Hex Raises $100M and Launches Agent-Native Analytics

Business intelligence is changing as employees ask AI agents to build analyses rather than manually assembling dashboards. Hex is redesigning its product around that shift.

What happened

Hex announced a $100 million financing round at a $1.2 billion valuation. Investors included Peak XV and 137 Ventures, with participation from existing supporters.

Alongside the round, the company introduced Hex 4.0, a rebuilt analytics environment that places code, AI agents, shared context and governance at the centre of analytical work. It aims to help users create analyses and applications while preserving the ability to inspect calculations and control access.

The company says thousands of businesses use its platform. The product launch and funding were announced on 27 October, making this a dated catch-up item rather than an original 28 October transaction.

Why it matters

AI can make analytics more accessible but also produce conflicting numbers if teams apply different definitions or lack reliable data context. A platform that keeps work reviewable and governed may help businesses trust results generated by agents.

Hex competes with established BI tools and newer AI-native analytics companies. The financing gives it resources to expand, but a valuation does not prove the success of the redesigned product.

The bigger picture

Enterprise analytics may be rebuilt around code, semantic context and agent collaboration rather than static reports. Hex's release is a meaningful marker of that transition, with customer adoption and measurable reliability still to prove.
