What happened
Former Revolut employees Veronique Barbosa and Tom Reay unveiled Haido and opened its customer waitlist. Reported backers include Eileen Burbidge and Laurence Twelvetrees. A funding amount was not disclosed.
The company plans to seek regulatory authorisation in 2027. This is an early product announcement, rather than the launch of an authorised wealth-management service.
Why it matters
Personal finance is an obvious application for conversational software, but an accessible answer still needs to be numerically accurate and appropriate to the user’s circumstances. Haido is positioning accountability and traceability as part of its approach.
The bigger picture
The founder experience and backing make Haido worth tracking. Its product performance, broad availability and regulatory status are not verified enough to support stronger claims at this stage. Those will be the useful milestones as the service develops.
