Guava raises $12.5m for developer-controlled voice agents
A voice agent needs to do more than sound convincing. It has to work with the business behind the call.

A voice agent needs to do more than sound convincing. It has to work with the business behind the call.
What happened
Guava has announced a $12.5 million seed round led by Acrew Capital, with investors including Flourish Ventures and Commerce Ventures.
Its voice-agent infrastructure lets developers connect conversations to their software, knowledge and business rules. The funding will support product development and commercial expansion.
Why it matters
Connecting conversations to software and business rules can let an agent retrieve information or take permitted actions. That integration work is a practical requirement for moving from a voice demo to a usable customer workflow.
The bigger picture
Voice-agent infrastructure competes on control and dependable execution as well as speech quality. Guava's funding supports its product and expansion plans; adoption and performance in customer deployments will determine how well the approach translates into a business.
