Grubel Raises €3M for Specialised Legal AI
Grubel has raised €3M to build legal AI systems that adapt models to the facts and materials of individual matters.

Grubel has raised a €3M pre-seed round to build AI systems designed to specialise themselves around individual legal matters.
What happened
The round was led by Point Nine, with angel investors including Jeff Dean, Chris Ré, Ion Stoica and Harvey cofounders Gabe Pereyra and Winston Weinberg. Grubel's approach centres on gathering matter-specific data, adapting models and agents to that material, and continuously evaluating outputs against standards derived from the case itself.
Why it matters
Most legal AI products wrap general-purpose models around document search and workflow tools. Difficult legal work often requires a deeper understanding of a specific matter, its documents and its legal context. Matter-specific adaptation could improve performance where generic retrieval alone is insufficient.
The bigger picture
Legal AI is moving from simple copilots toward systems built around domain specialisation, evaluation and workflow control. The unusually strong technical and legal-AI investor network behind Grubel also makes the company notable despite the relatively small pre-seed round.
