Golbriak Space Raises €4M for Laser Communications
Golbriak Space has raised €4M to industrialise optical communication terminals for satellites and airborne systems.

Satellite networks are generating more data than traditional radio links can easily handle.
What happened
Golbriak Space raised a €4 million seed round to scale optical communication terminals for satellites and airborne systems.
Its hardware uses laser links to move data at high speeds between spacecraft and other platforms.
The company plans to industrialise production as larger satellite constellations increase demand for high-capacity communications.
Why it matters
Optical links can offer much higher bandwidth than traditional radio systems while reducing pressure on increasingly crowded spectrum.
That makes them especially relevant to Earth-observation, communications and defence constellations producing large volumes of data.
The bigger picture
As the number of satellites grows, the infrastructure connecting them becomes a market of its own.
Launch and spacecraft manufacturing receive most of the attention, but communications hardware is equally critical.
Golbriak is targeting that less visible layer of the space stack.
