General Intuition Raises $220M for World Models

General Intuition has raised a large new round around one of AI's fastest-growing research themes: world models that try to understand actions, environments and how situations change over time.

What happened

The company raised $220 million at a $6.2 billion valuation from investors including Valor Equity Partners, Atreides, Seven Seven Six, Point72, Khosla Ventures and General Catalyst.

General Intuition uses large volumes of gameplay video from sister company Medal as training data for models that learn how actions affect dynamic environments.

Why it matters

World models are attracting investment because they could provide the predictive layer needed for more capable robotics and physical AI.

Training data is a major bottleneck. Real-world robotics data is expensive and slow to collect, while games produce enormous volumes of action-rich sequences where inputs and outcomes are easier to observe.

That does not mean gaming data automatically transfers to the physical world, but it gives General Intuition a differentiated dataset for learning motion, causality and interaction.

The bigger picture

AI research is moving beyond text and static images toward models that understand how environments evolve.

That has implications for robotics, simulation, autonomous systems and scientific modelling.

General Intuition's valuation shows how quickly investors are assigning strategic value to world-model companies even before the commercial market is fully defined. The competition is increasingly about who can assemble the right data and simulation environments before physical AI becomes a mainstream software category.
