Galileo Robotics is pointing to a robotics trend that is easy to miss: mobility platforms are starting to blur the lines between wheeled robots, vehicles and legged systems.

Galileo Robotics unveiled Galileo X at the 2026 World Robot Conference in Beijing. The system is described as an embodied ground mobility platform that combines capabilities normally split across wheeled AGVs, vehicles and legged robots.
The platform is aimed at transport, inspection, off-road handling and mobile operation. Rather than designing one robot for one narrow environment, Galileo is pitching a more flexible mobility base for varied physical tasks.
Why it matters
Robotics companies often face a form-factor problem. A robot that works well in a warehouse may struggle outdoors; a vehicle may move quickly but lack manoeuvrability; a legged robot may handle terrain but be costly and complex.
A flexible ground mobility platform could make deployment easier if it can cover more environments with one architecture. That matters for industrial sites, logistics yards, inspection routes and infrastructure operations.
