Formula Space hardens EV chargers against cable theft
Formula Space launched a tougher retrofit sleeve intended to slow power-tool attacks on electric-vehicle charging cables.
What happened
Formula Space launched a V4 version of CableGuard, a protective sleeve designed to make EV charging cables harder and slower to cut with power tools. The product can be retrofitted to existing chargers while preserving the flexibility needed by drivers.
Why it matters
Organised cable theft creates repair costs, charger downtime and unreliable service for electric-vehicle drivers. Extending the time required for an attack can increase the likelihood of detection and reduce the economic incentive.
The bigger picture
No flexible protection can make cable theft impossible. Deployment scale and incident-prevention results are company-reported and require independent evidence before they can be treated as established performance.
