Flip Raises €22M for Frontline AI
Flip’s €22M round shows AI workplace software moving beyond office workers toward deskless teams in retail, logistics, care and production.
Most workplace AI tools are built for people who already live in email, calendars and dashboards. Flip is going after the much larger workforce that usually does not.
What happened
Stuttgart-based Flip raised €22M to fund AI infrastructure and knowledge development for deskless workers. Existing investors Notion Capital and HV Capital backed the round, with L-Bank joining as a new investor.
Flip builds software for frontline employees across sectors such as retail, logistics, production, hospitality and care. These workers often lack direct access to corporate systems, even though they are the people closest to customers, operations and service delivery.
The company’s AI push is focused on giving deskless teams better access to information, knowledge and workflow tools. That includes making company knowledge easier to retrieve and making internal communication less dependent on fragmented channels.
Why it matters
AI adoption has been heavily biased toward office workers because they already have digital workflows. Frontline work is harder: devices can be shared, shifts are variable, information is scattered and workers may not have corporate email identities.
That makes Flip’s round interesting. If AI can help frontline employees find policies, complete tasks, access training or solve operational issues faster, it could create productivity gains outside the usual white-collar software market.
The bigger picture
The next wave of enterprise AI may depend less on building smarter assistants for executives and more on bringing digital access to overlooked workers. Frontline software has always been difficult because the user base is distributed and operationally messy. Flip’s raise suggests investors believe AI could make that category more valuable by turning fragmented workplace knowledge into usable, everyday support.
