Fish Audio Raises $52M for Voice AI

Fish Audio has raised a $52 million seed round to expand its voice-generation platform for creators and businesses.

What happened

The round was led by Coreline Ventures and Capital Today. Fish Audio says it has reached eight million users and $21 million in annual recurring revenue, with more than 15,000 controls for customising generated voices.

The company is competing in a crowded market that includes specialist voice startups and larger AI laboratories with speech-generation products.

Why it matters

The size of the round is unusual for a seed-stage company, but the reported revenue gives investors a clearer commercial signal than usage alone. It suggests specialised model companies can still build meaningful businesses even as general-purpose AI platforms expand into their categories.

The main risk is governance. Voice models raise difficult questions around consent, ownership, impersonation and compensation—especially when generated voices resemble real people.

The bigger picture

Voice is becoming an interface layer across entertainment, customer service and AI agents. The winners will need more than realistic audio: they will also need strong rights management, reliable controls and enough distribution to compete with bundled products from larger platforms.
