European founders push for a single EU startup structure
European founders and investors are pressing lawmakers to create a genuinely cross-border corporate structure for startups.

Europe’s startup fragmentation is not only a funding problem. It is also a legal and operating problem.
What happened
Founders and venture investors renewed pressure on European lawmakers to create a common corporate structure often referred to as “EU Inc,” designed to make it easier for startups to operate, hire and raise capital across member states.
Why it matters
Companies expanding across Europe often face different company-law, employee-equity and administrative regimes in each market. Those frictions can make scaling slower and more expensive than in a single domestic market.
The bigger picture
Europe’s competitiveness debate is moving beyond subsidies and fund sizes toward the infrastructure of company formation itself. Simplifying the legal layer could have effects across nearly every technology sector.
