Eureka Launches €20M Deeptech Fund
Eureka launches a Lazio-backed early-stage fund for Italian deeptech companies in areas such as robotics, quantum and materials.

Eureka is launching a new fund aimed at the difficult early stage where research needs to become an investable deeptech company.
What happened
Eureka! Venture launched Eureka! Fund II – Deep Tech Lazio, a €20 million early-stage vehicle backed by a €16 million anchor commitment from Lazio Innova.
The fund will invest from proof-of-concept through seed stages.
Target areas include advanced manufacturing, robotics, physical AI, quantum technology, materials science, climate and defence.
Why it matters
European deeptech often struggles between university research and industrial validation.
That gap can be too risky for traditional investors but too capital-intensive for founders to bridge alone. Public anchor capital can help make the category more attractive to private investors while supporting regional innovation.
The bigger picture
Deeptech investing in Europe is becoming more specialised and more place-based.
Funds like this are designed not only to finance companies, but to turn local research ecosystems into commercial startups. That matters for European competitiveness in areas where technical depth and industrial infrastructure are critical.
