EU Fund Eyes ElevenLabs $500M Round
The EU-backed Scaleup Europe Fund is reportedly in talks to join a financing of more than $500 million for ElevenLabs.

ElevenLabs could become an early test of Europe's effort to keep more growth-stage AI financing inside the region.
What happened
The EU-backed Scaleup Europe Fund is reportedly in talks to invest in ElevenLabs as part of a financing that could raise more than $500 million.
The London-based company has become one of Europe's most prominent voice-AI startups, building synthetic speech and audio tools for creators and enterprises.
The financing has not been announced as completed, so the amount and investor participation remain subject to change.
Why it matters
Europe has produced globally competitive AI companies but has often struggled to provide the very large late-stage rounds available in the US.
A substantial investment by an EU-backed vehicle into ElevenLabs would therefore carry significance beyond the company itself. It would show public-backed European capital attempting to participate directly in the growth rounds of leading AI businesses.
The bigger picture
AI sovereignty is increasingly about capital as well as chips, compute and regulation. If Europe wants its strongest startups to remain independent for longer, they need access to later-stage funding without relying entirely on US investors or public markets. ElevenLabs could become a visible case study for whether Europe's new scale-up financing structures can close that gap.
