Ethris Secures €30M for Respiratory mRNA Drugs
Ethris has secured €30M in financing to advance respiratory mRNA programmes and antiviral development.

Ethris has secured €30M in financing to advance its respiratory mRNA pipeline and support further clinical development.
What happened
The financing agreement is backed by the European Investment Bank through the EU's HERA programme. Funding will support programmes including ETH47, which is being studied in asthma and is planned for further development in COPD and other respiratory conditions.
Why it matters
Ethris is developing locally administered mRNA medicines aimed at the respiratory system rather than systemic delivery. That could allow therapies to act directly in the airways and potentially support broader antiviral or immune-response applications.
The bigger picture
The mRNA platform story is expanding beyond vaccines. European public financing is increasingly supporting companies trying to turn mRNA into a broader therapeutic modality, while also linking biotech investment to pandemic preparedness and strategic health resilience.
