Entire Launches GitHub Rival for AI Agents

AI coding agents can generate software changes faster than traditional teams can review them. Entire is attempting to rebuild the infrastructure around that new pace of development.

What happened

Entire, founded by former GitHub chief executive Thomas Dohmke, launched an independent Git-compatible hosting platform designed for agent-human collaboration. Unlike its earlier distributed Git network preview, the new release provides a standalone forge for hosting and reviewing code.

The platform introduces Trails, a review workflow that collects evaluations of code changes and presents them as actionable signals for developers and agents. Its Continuous Memory feature preserves development sessions, prompts and context so coding agents can recover prior decisions rather than repeatedly reconstruct them.

Entire also offers distributed Git hosting and integrations with build-and-test infrastructure. The company claims its architecture can deliver substantially faster pushes than existing Git hosting platforms in its benchmarks, but those results are not universal or independently established performance guarantees.

Why it matters

Traditional pull-request workflows assume a manageable stream of edits produced by human developers. Parallel agents can create many changes simultaneously, increasing the need for automated checks, task context and clear accountability.

Continuous memory may make agents more effective across long-lived projects, while evaluation-based review could help developers focus on problematic changes. But automated scores and tests cannot eliminate the need for rigorous human oversight, particularly for security-sensitive or consequential systems.

The bigger picture

Developer infrastructure is becoming a competitive layer of the AI coding market. Entire is betting that code hosting, review and historical context must change as agents perform more engineering work—not simply that existing repositories need another chatbot.
