Enact raises $30M to give robots a sense of touch
Enact Intelligence raises a $30 million pre-seed round for robotic systems that understand force and touch.

What happened
Zurich-based Enact Intelligence emerged from stealth with a $30 million pre-seed round backed by investors including Yann LeCun and Arthur Mensch. The company is developing physical-AI systems intended to help robots interpret force and touch while manipulating objects.
Why it matters
Vision alone is not enough for assembly, handling fragile products or working safely around people. Robots also need to recognise whether they have gripped an object securely, pushed too hard or encountered unexpected resistance. Better tactile intelligence could expand the range of jobs machines can perform.
The bigger picture
Physical AI is becoming a distinct investment category as companies try to connect digital reasoning with reliable action. The round is unusually large for the stage and creates high expectations. Enact’s technical claims remain early and need to be demonstrated outside controlled environments.
