Embedd is targeting one of the less glamorous but very real problems in physical AI: getting hardware and software to work together cleanly.
What happened
London-based Embedd raised €2.3M pre-seed funding led by Seedcamp, with participation from Cocoa, Connect Ventures, 2100 Ventures, Vesna Capital, U.ventures, Underline Ventures, Common Magic and Roosh Ventures.
The company is building software infrastructure for physical AI, using digital twins and AI agents to automate chip-to-software integration. Its focus is the layer between chips, embedded systems and the software that controls real-world machines.
Why it matters
Robots, vehicles and industrial systems depend on many chips, sensors and control systems. Integration is slow, technical and often bespoke. If physical-AI companies want to ship faster, they need better developer infrastructure, not just better models.
Embedd’s round is small, but the problem it targets is large. Every robotics or autonomy company eventually runs into hardware-software complexity.
The bigger picture
Physical AI will need its own developer tooling stack. The winners may include companies that never build a robot themselves, but make it easier for everyone else to build, test and deploy intelligent machines. Embedd fits that hidden-infrastructure category.
