Eevi Raises Pre-Seed for Voice AI Tutor
Eevi has raised pre-seed funding to develop a voice-first AI language tutor built around real-time conversation.

Eevi has raised pre-seed funding around a language-learning thesis that has become much more practical with real-time voice AI: get learners speaking immediately instead of building the product around quizzes.
What happened
The Amsterdam startup raised a pre-seed round led by Rockstart. The amount was not disclosed.
Eevi is building a voice-first AI tutor that centres lessons around spoken conversation rather than tap-and-swipe exercises.
The product currently supports roughly 14 languages and uses real-time voice models to respond dynamically to learners. The company ran a six-month closed beta with around 100 users before preparing for a broader launch.
Why it matters
Language learning is an unusually natural use case for conversational AI because practice requires an available speaking partner, immediate feedback and repeated exposure.
Previous digital products could simulate parts of that experience, but real-time voice models make sustained open-ended conversation much easier to deliver.
The challenge will be proving learning outcomes rather than simply engagement.
The bigger picture
Generative AI could reshape edtech most where the technology replaces a scarce human interaction rather than merely creating content. Language tutoring, coaching and practice-based learning fit that pattern. Eevi remains very early, but its product design illustrates how AI-native education may look different from adding chat features to existing courseware.
