eComID Buys Nilum for AI Recommerce
eComID acquired Nilum to add AI-native resale capability to its shopper identity and preference platform.

Recommerce is becoming less like a separate marketplace and more like part of the retail stack.
What happened
eComID acquired Nilum, an AI-native second-hand shopping startup. The deal follows eComID’s recent €14.6M seed round and adds recommerce capability to its Shopping Passport product.
The Shopping Passport is designed to carry user size, fit, taste and shopping preferences across connected brands. Nilum adds resale discovery and second-hand shopping capability to that identity and preference layer.
Why it matters
Fashion resale has historically been fragmented from primary retail. A customer may buy new products from one brand, then search resale inventory somewhere else with little continuity of sizing, style or preference data.
eComID is betting that shopper identity can connect those experiences. If preference data travels across retail and resale, second-hand shopping could become easier, more personalised and better integrated into brand-owned channels.
The bigger picture
Consumer commerce is moving toward persistent data layers. AI can help match inventory to taste, but the real value comes when identity, fit, preferences and purchase history travel across more of the shopping journey. Recommerce may become an infrastructure feature, not just a separate app category.
