Dream Labs Raises $90M to Build a Shared Brain for Robots

The robotics AI startup wants one foundation model to control machines from different manufacturers and make capable robots cheaper to deploy.

Dream Labs Raises $90M to Build a Shared Brain for Robots

Dream Labs has raised a $90 million seed round to build a general-purpose AI system for everyday robots.

What happened

The company is developing a foundation model designed to control robots from different manufacturers rather than training a separate system for every machine. B Capital and Kindred Ventures led the round, alongside a group of venture investors and technology founders.

Why it matters

Robot hardware is becoming cheaper and more available, but useful autonomy remains difficult. A shared intelligence layer could reduce the cost and time required to teach different machines how to understand their surroundings and complete practical tasks.

The bigger picture

Physical AI is moving toward the model seen in software: reusable foundation systems sitting underneath many applications. The hard test will be whether one model can transfer reliably across different bodies, tasks and real-world environments.
