The company has reportedly raised hundreds of millions of dollars in first-round funding, with backing from major venture investors and a long-term cloud and compute partnership involving Alphabet.
Why it matters
This is one of the clearest frontier-AI talent signals of the week. The startup is not targeting another chatbot or productivity assistant. It is aiming at the harder problem of using AI to accelerate experiments, engineering cycles and scientific work.
That matters because scientific discovery is one of the biggest promised markets for AI, but also one of the hardest to productise. It needs models, labs, data, experimental loops and domain-specific workflows.
