Deutsche Sanierungsberatung raises €10M for retrofits
The Berlin platform has raised more than €10M to coordinate energy advice, subsidies and contractors for home renovation projects.
The technology needed to make homes more energy-efficient already exists. The harder problem is coordinating assessments, subsidies, contractors and financing into one manageable project.
What happened
Deutsche Sanierungsberatung raised a Series A exceeding €10M. Simon Capital and VERBUND X Ventures led the round.
The Berlin-based company manages home-renovation projects including insulation, heat pumps, solar installations and window replacement. Its platform combines energy advice, subsidy applications and contractor coordination rather than asking homeowners to manage each provider separately.
The company plans to expand into business-to-business services and introduce an electricity tariff alongside its renovation offering.
Why it matters
Buildings account for a significant share of energy consumption, but renovation rates remain slow. The bottleneck is often not the underlying equipment. Homeowners may struggle to understand which upgrades make sense, which grants they qualify for and which contractors they can trust.
A managed service can reduce that complexity and potentially increase conversion from initial interest to completed renovation.
The bigger picture
Climate technology increasingly includes workflow and service businesses that help proven hardware reach customers. Heat pumps, insulation and rooftop solar only reduce emissions when they are installed at scale.
Deutsche Sanierungsberatung is effectively building an operating layer for residential decarbonisation. Its challenge will be maintaining service quality while expanding across regions with different housing stock, contractors and subsidy programmes.
