Deepslate Raises €7.7M for European Voice AI

Voice AI is becoming more specialised as companies look for models that can handle language, tone, latency and data-hosting constraints.

What happened

Berlin-based Deepslate raised €7.7 million in seed funding led by 42CAP, with participation from Alstin Capital, SIVentures and angel investors. The company is building speech-to-speech AI models focused on European languages and hosted within the EU.

Unlike systems that convert speech to text and then back to speech, Deepslate is focused on direct voice-to-voice interaction.

Why it matters

Enterprise voice agents need to do more than sound fluent. They need to preserve tone, accents, dialects and timing, while meeting privacy and data-residency expectations. That is especially important in Europe, where language diversity and regulatory requirements can make global voice systems less suitable.

Deepslate’s approach targets a layer of AI that is still early but commercially important: natural voice interfaces for customer support, operations and workflow automation.

The bigger picture

The voice AI market is moving away from generic demos toward specialised infrastructure. Regional language coverage, latency, privacy and deployment control could become meaningful differentiators as enterprises move from experiments to production voice agents.
