Dawnguard raises €2.8M for security architecture automation
Dawnguard raised €2.8M to automate secure architecture design and continuously check cloud environments against approved infrastructure patterns.

As engineering gets faster, security needs to move earlier in the software lifecycle.
What happened
Amsterdam-based Dawnguard launched its security architecture automation platform and raised an additional €2.8M in pre-seed funding.
The round included existing investor BNVT Capital, plus Curiosity VC and eCAPITAL, bringing total funding to more than €5.5M. The company turns secure architecture into deployable infrastructure and continuously checks cloud environments against approved designs.
Why it matters
Security teams often catch problems after systems are already built. That is increasingly risky as AI-assisted development speeds up software creation and cloud environments become more complex.
Dawnguard is targeting the design layer: make secure architecture easier to define, deploy and monitor before issues become operational incidents.
The bigger picture
Cybersecurity is shifting from reactive detection toward prevention built into engineering workflows. The more software teams automate development and infrastructure, the more security needs to become programmable too.
Dawnguard’s raise points to a broader market need for tools that make secure-by-design systems practical, especially for cloud-native teams moving quickly.
