D-Robotics Raises $400M for Robot Chips
D-Robotics has raised a $400 million Series C to expand its robotics chip and software platform.

D-Robotics has raised a major new round as investors continue backing the computing infrastructure underneath the robotics boom.
What happened
The company closed a $400 million Series C and plans to expand its Sunrise robotics-chip portfolio alongside software covering more of the robot-development stack.
D-Robotics says cumulative shipments of its Sunrise chips have surpassed 8 million units, giving the company a meaningful installed base as demand grows across commercial robots, embodied AI systems and emerging humanoid platforms.
Why it matters
A large share of robotics value may sit below the finished robot itself. Developers need processors, perception systems, development tools and software that can work across many different hardware platforms.
That makes companies such as D-Robotics important infrastructure providers rather than bets on a single robot form factor. A broader hardware-plus-software platform can potentially serve industrial machines, service robots and humanoids at the same time.
The bigger picture
Robotics funding is increasingly splitting into two layers: companies building visible end products and companies building the compute stack that makes those products possible. As physical AI moves toward larger deployments, scalable chips and reusable software platforms could become one of the sector's most defensible bottlenecks.
