AI agents are creating work for security teams—and an acquisition market for the tools that help them.

What happened

CrowdStrike has signed agreements to acquire Fiddler AI and Dreadnode.

Fiddler monitors and explains AI-agent behaviour. Dreadnode tests AI systems for security weaknesses. The acquisitions would add these capabilities to CrowdStrike's security offering.

Both deals are proposed acquisitions subject to closing conditions, rather than completed transactions.

Why it matters

Monitoring an agent's behaviour and testing its weaknesses address different parts of the security problem. Bringing both capabilities into a larger platform could help customers assess AI systems before deployment and observe them afterwards.

The bigger picture

Specialist startups may find buyers among established security providers building out their AI offerings. For these two deals, the immediate distinction matters: signed agreements set out an intended transaction; completion still depends on the closing process.
