Creandum closes $750m eighth fund
Creandum closed its largest fund at $750m, maintaining a generalist early-stage strategy as AI reshapes its portfolio and investment process.

A new fund gives a venture firm capacity to make new bets and support existing companies. Creandum’s eighth vehicle provides $750m for that next investment cycle.
What happened
Creandum closed Fund VIII at $750m, its largest fund to date. The firm will continue investing at the early stage, with capital allocated to both new companies and follow-on rounds.
Its portfolio includes Lovable, Klarna and Black Forest Labs. While AI is an important opportunity for the firm, Creandum is maintaining a generalist strategy. It is also expanding its presence in San Francisco alongside its European offices.
Why it matters
For founders, a fund close matters because it puts committed capital behind future investment decisions. Follow-on reserves also give a firm capacity to support portfolio companies as their funding needs grow.
The combination of European and US teams can help investors work with companies whose customers, hiring and financing cross borders from an early stage.
The bigger picture
AI is influencing both what venture firms invest in and how they conduct their own work. Creandum has described changes to its investment operations with AI at the centre, while retaining a broad investment mandate.
The fund should therefore be read as fresh early-stage financing capacity across several technology sectors. Its size does not mean that all $750m will be deployed immediately, or exclusively into AI software companies.
