CopySight Raises $3M for AI IP Risk
CopySight is building risk-scoring tools for copyright and likeness issues in AI-generated media.

Generated media is getting easier to make. Proving it is safe to use commercially is becoming the harder problem.
What happened
CopySight raised a $3M seed round and launched an updated version of its copyright and likeness risk-scoring product. The platform is expanding from AI-generated images into video, where the risks around characters, performers, brands and visual similarity become even messier.
The company is small, but the category is increasingly relevant. Brands, creators, publishers and studios want to use AI-generated content, but they need to avoid accidentally copying protected work or misusing a person’s likeness.
Why it matters
AI media tools have created a new governance problem. It is not enough for a model to generate a usable image or video. Commercial users need confidence that the asset will not create legal, reputational or platform-distribution problems later.
CopySight is trying to sit in that pre-publication layer: assessing risk before content goes live. That could become important as generated video moves into advertising, entertainment, social content and product marketing.
The bigger picture
The AI media stack is splitting into creation tools and trust tools. As generation gets cheaper, governance may become one of the places where customers are willing to pay.
