Checkout.com deepens US payments push
Checkout.com says US payment volume has jumped 126% year to date as it expands direct acquiring, payouts and issuing infrastructure.

Checkout.com is moving deeper into the underlying payments stack as its US business scales.
What happened
The company said US payment volume has grown 126% year to date, with processing volume on track to exceed $100B. Checkout.com is expanding Direct Acquiring, Payouts and Issuing capabilities alongside products for software platforms and marketplaces.
Why it matters
Owning more of the acquiring layer gives a payments company greater control over routing, approval rates, product development and economics. That can be particularly valuable in the US, where payments infrastructure remains fragmented across banks, card networks and processors.
The bigger picture
Payments companies are increasingly competing on infrastructure depth rather than just merchant-facing software. The more of the transaction stack a provider controls, the more data and optimisation opportunities it can capture.
