Celonis says enterprise AI adoption is slower than expected
Celonis’ comments on slower AI adoption offer a useful counter-signal to the hype around enterprise AI transformation.

What happened
Celonis leadership said enterprise AI adoption has been slower than expected.
That is a useful counter-signal in a market where every company is expected to be magically transformed by AI overnight.
Why it matters
Enterprises may want AI, but adoption is rarely instant. Real implementation depends on data quality, workflow redesign, trust, governance, and employee behaviour.
The hard part is not always buying the tool. It is changing how work actually gets done.
The bigger picture
AI adoption may happen more unevenly than the hype suggests. Some functions will move quickly, while others will take longer because the process, risk, or data layer is messier.
My take
This is why I keep saying AI does not simply replace humans. It restructures work. And restructuring work is much harder than plugging in a new dashboard.
