Celero raises $275M for AI networking chips
Celero Communications has raised $275 million as optical networking becomes a critical bottleneck in large AI data centres.

The AI infrastructure race is moving beyond GPUs into the networks that connect enormous clusters of chips.
What happened
Celero Communications raised a $275 million Series C at a valuation above $3 billion. The company develops coherent digital signal processors for high-speed data-centre connectivity. Atreides Management, Valor Equity Partners and CapitalG led the round.
Why it matters
As AI clusters grow, moving data efficiently between processors and facilities becomes increasingly difficult. Networking bandwidth, latency and energy use can limit performance even when companies have access to enough compute.
The bigger picture
AI infrastructure is becoming a broader semiconductor and systems market. Value is spreading from accelerators into optical components, networking silicon, memory, power and cooling — creating new opportunities around the bottlenecks surrounding the GPU.
