What happened

CareCloud confirmed that hackers stole personal and medical information from more than 3.75M people.

The company provides electronic medical-record storage and related software to healthcare providers. That means the breach did not only affect one clinic or one narrow user group. It exposed the risk created when healthcare data is concentrated inside shared infrastructure platforms.

The stolen information included personal and medical data, making this one of the largest confirmed US health-data breaches of 2026 so far.

Why it matters
