Candid Health raised a $120M Series D led by Sixth Street Growth, with Oak HC/FT, 8VC and Y Combinator returning.
The company automates revenue-cycle management, including claims submission, billing, reimbursement and denial handling. Its platform connects healthcare providers with payer rules and operational workflows that are often managed through a mixture of legacy software and manual teams.
Candid says the new financing triples its valuation from the previous round and that annual recurring revenue grew 190% year over year. Those growth figures are company-reported.
Why it matters
Medical billing is expensive because every claim sits between clinical documentation, coding rules, insurer policies and patient responsibility. Errors or incomplete information can delay payment for months.
AI can create measurable value here without making treatment decisions. The product succeeds if it reduces denials, shortens payment cycles and lowers administrative labour.
The bigger picture
Healthcare AI is attracting capital toward operational infrastructure rather than only diagnostics and drug discovery. Revenue-cycle software has strong economics because it touches cash flow directly and can be priced against recovered or accelerated revenue.
The market is also difficult to enter. Candid must integrate with provider systems, maintain payer-specific knowledge and handle exceptions accurately. Its scale advantage may come from the claims data and operational patterns accumulated across customers, not simply from the underlying models.
