BrainChild raises $116M for pediatric cancer CAR-T
BrainChild Bio has raised $116 million to advance CAR-T therapies for central nervous system tumours, including pediatric brain cancer.

BrainChild Bio has secured a large Series A to push cell therapy into one of oncology’s hardest treatment areas.
What happened
The company raised $116 million to fund development of CAR-T therapies for central nervous system tumours. The financing will support a pivotal Phase 2 trial of BCB-276 for diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma, a rare and aggressive pediatric brainstem cancer.
Why it matters
CAR-T has transformed parts of blood cancer treatment, but solid and central nervous system tumours remain much more difficult. BrainChild is testing whether engineered cell therapies can extend into those harder settings.
The bigger picture
Biotech investors are still willing to fund capital-intensive therapeutic platforms when programmes have clear clinical milestones. The next wave of cell therapy is increasingly focused on expanding beyond the disease areas where the technology first proved itself.
