BlackLine Acquires NetNow for AI Credit Risk

BlackLine has acquired NetNow to add AI-enabled customer onboarding and credit-risk automation to its finance platform.

BlackLine Acquires NetNow for AI Credit Risk

BlackLine is expanding further upstream in the finance workflow by acquiring NetNow, an AI-enabled platform for customer onboarding and credit-risk management.

What happened

NetNow automates B2B credit applications, trade references, fraud checks, risk assessment and ongoing monitoring before a company issues an invoice.

BlackLine plans to integrate those capabilities into its broader invoice-to-cash and financial-operations platform.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

Why it matters

Much of finance automation has historically focused on what happens after a transaction: reconciliation, collections and close processes.

Credit decisions happen earlier. They determine whether a company should extend payment terms in the first place and how much risk it is willing to accept.

Adding that layer gives BlackLine more of the customer financial lifecycle while reducing the need for finance teams to move between specialist tools.

The bigger picture

The enterprise AI market is consolidating quickly. Large software platforms are buying narrow automation products and folding them into broader systems of record.

That creates pressure on point solutions to either become deeply differentiated or find strategic buyers. NetNow's acquisition shows how agentic and AI-enabled finance workflows are moving from standalone tools into end-to-end platforms that increasingly manage decisions across the entire receivables process.
