BioStack raises $9.5M for medical AI data
BioStack raises $9.5 million to build longitudinal clinical datasets and training environments for medical AI.

What happened
BioStack raised a $9.5 million seed round involving Peak XV, Afore Capital, DCVC, Emerson Collective, SV Angel, Verdict Capital, Streamlined Ventures and Y Combinator. The company connects clinical notes, laboratory results, imaging, medications and outcomes into longitudinal datasets.
Why it matters
Medical AI needs reliable information showing how patients are diagnosed, treated and followed over time. Health records are fragmented across systems and formats, limiting model development and evaluation. Combining those records could support clinical research, disease modelling and treatment analysis.
The bigger picture
As foundation models become widely accessible, proprietary datasets and evaluation environments are becoming a source of competitive advantage in healthcare. BioStack’s claimed access to 100 million de-identified records, their representativeness and their suitability for training remain company-reported and not independently verified enough.
