Axya Raises C$17M for Procurement AI

Axya has raised fresh capital to bring AI automation into one of manufacturing's least modernised workflows: procurement.

What happened

The Montreal-based company raised C$17M in Series A financing led by McRock Capital, with participation from Yamaha Motor Ventures, BDC's Industrial Innovation Venture Fund and Real Ventures.

Its platform automates sourcing and purchasing processes for manufacturers and integrates with existing ERP systems, helping teams manage supplier discovery, requests and procurement workflows.

Why it matters

Industrial procurement still relies heavily on spreadsheets, email and fragmented supplier communication. Those processes become costly as manufacturers manage larger supplier networks and more volatile input prices.

AI can be valuable here because the work combines repetitive coordination with large amounts of unstructured supplier and product information.

The bigger picture

Enterprise AI is spreading beyond knowledge-worker tools into operational software for physical industries. Manufacturing is especially attractive because many processes remain digitally fragmented, yet improvements can translate directly into lower costs, faster production and more resilient supply chains.
