Avid brings Gemini agents into video workflows
Avid and Google Cloud are embedding Gemini-powered agents into professional media production, moving AI deeper into the tools editors already use.

Generative AI is moving from standalone content tools into the professional software used to produce film, television and other media.
What happened
Avid and Google Cloud expanded their partnership with a browser-based version of Avid Media Composer and upgrades to Content Core. Gemini Enterprise, BigQuery and media-focused AI agents will be used for tasks including conversational search, metadata work and production operations.
Why it matters
Professional media workflows contain large libraries, complex permissions and long production chains. Embedding AI inside established editing and asset-management tools can be more valuable than asking creative teams to move work into separate AI products. It also keeps human editors in control of high-value creative decisions.
The bigger picture
The next phase of generative media may be less about fully AI-generated films and more about AI quietly reducing friction across existing production stacks. Incumbent creative-software vendors are increasingly positioning themselves as the distribution layer for those agents.
